Miscellaneous Happenings in January 2010

ANGELINA AND THE JACKET:

Here's a pretty common dialogue at Little Steps Daycare...

Theresa (Caleb's teacher): Caleb, time to put your jacket on.

Caleb: No.

Mama: Caleb, time to go. Let's get your jacket on.

Caleb: NO!

Angelina (Caleb's 3-year old friend): Caleb, you have to put your jacket on!

Caleb (begrudgingly): Okaaayyy.

Angelina keeps a tight leash on the little man, and every day she puts his jacket and hat on. She's the only one he'll listen to! On the day I took this video she kept bending down to zip up the jacket, but every time she bent down he bent down as well! It made for an interesting few minutes

WAITING FOR PAPA IN THE CAR:

HANGING OUT IN PAPA'S CLASSROOM:

Each day I drop Caleb and Jonathan at Jonathan's school, ELLIS Academy, where they wait to bring Caleb to school at 8 am. One morning I went in with them to help Jonathan, and I saw Caleb's new balancing act:

DRUMMING & DANCING:

These videos were taken at Mama's school during the International Festival. It's a time when teachers and students celebrate the cultural diversity at our school through dancing, singing, and eating, and this year I joined in the festivities!

WATCHING THE PATRIOTS END THEIR 2009 - 2010 SEASON:

Someday he'll understand what a sad moment this was.

BEING TICKLED BY RALPH AND ALF:

A Shank family tradition...

CELEBRATING VALENTINES DAY:

Caleb had a fun Valentine's weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Shank, Aunts Carolyn and Jodie, and Uncle Colin. On Sunday he made a Valentine's display with Grandma while everyone else was at the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA.

WALKING WITH PAPA AND HELPING HIM WITH THE HEAVY BAG:

Hey Leah and Caleb,

Thanks for all of the great videos! I just spent a good hour watching and laughing when I should have been grading. It was a much, much better use of my time - thanks! Love and miss you guys. Hope to see you for a weekend this spring, and I hope your new apartment is meeting all of your needs.

love,
aunt Carolyn
