Playing the guitar and sledding

Jonathan made Caleb a pint-sized guitar for Christmas, mostly so Caleb wouldn't bang up Jonathan's regular one. Caleb has been playing for the past few months now and he often goes to the 'stage,' which is our fireplace hearth, to put on performances for guests.

Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, and other December wishes

Caleb had a busy December! He turned 3, went rock climbing for the first time, and went ice skating for the first time. He's not tired, but we sure are! (There are videos to accompany this posting, but they're not loading properly so I'll try later.)

Fall 2010 - Part II

HALLOWEEN:

Caleb was a monkey, but didn't want to go trick-or-treating. He looked outside and saw all the other kids doing it and said, "No, I want to play with my trains!" The only bad part about that was LES PARENTS didn't get any chocolate.

GOING TO BECCOFINO:

Every Friday we go to a little Italian restaurant around the corner from our house and 3 doors down from Caleb's school. Jonathan and I meet there at 4 and have a glass of wine and some food, then one of us goes to get Caleb at 5 and he has some pasta and milk. We get some toddler-free time to relax and Caleb gets to have all the pasta he can possibly eat. Going to Beccofino has inspired some pasta-twirling and Italian-learning practice, which you'll see in the video.

VISITING WITH PATIENCE AND NICO:

Patience and Nico are engaged (!) and we had a chance to spend some time with them at an aquarium in Norwalk. Then a few nights later Caleb was reading a book that had a French phrase (bon appetit) in it and he dedicated that part of the book to Nico.
