It's about time! Our September update...

Last year I read an article that recommended making only one major life change at a time in order to avoid being overly stressed. Well, Jonathan and I must have used that newspaper as packing material because at the beginning of September we decided to alter every aspect of our existence! Here are the major changes so far this year...

1. Caleb is going to school (aka daycare). He loves playing with the other kids and he's learning Spanish so someday he'll teach his momma.

2. Jonathan enjoys working at a new school, ELLIS (English Language Learners International School), which is another International school in the Bronx. It's right across the street from Caleb, and I drop the two of them off every morning on my way to work.

3. I'm working at the same school but in a new assistant administrative position that deals with assessment and everything that surrounds assessment (instructional support, student motivation, writing curriculum, data collection and analysis, etc.)

4. We moved! This is perhaps the biggest change, but surprisingly the most relaxing. We moved out of our lovely Harlem apartment to Yonkers (pronounced YAHN-kez, of course) and we are so happy here, mostly because Caleb has his own room.

In the past few weeks we've been able to get back to what we enjoyed about living in the Maine suburbs - day hikes, farmers markets that aren't packed with a million people, and quiet side streets. As for the little man, he's getting teeth, standing, and saying a ton of monosyllablic words! He mostly likes to talk to Finn and Nellie when they're peering around the corner at him, afraid to come any closer. Here is a series of pictures from the month of September:
